| Objectives:With the development of our economy the number of floating population is increasing rapidly.The majority of the population is in the child-bearing age.The family planning service for floating population in city becomes a weak chain in such situation.So the general objective of research is:to evaluate the status of floating using contraceptive and the demand and will to family planning service and explore the factors that influences the floating population satisfactory degree.Material objectives are followed:1.To evaluate the status of floating population using contraceptive,abortion, contraceptive knowledge,and explore the causes of failure to conception control;2.To evaluate the approach of obtaining contraceptive and difficulties,and explore the factors that influences the floating population obtaining the contraceptives;3.To explore the floating population's demand and will to accept IEC service, medical service and distribution;4.To explore the factors that influences the satisfactory degree of floating population accepting the IEC(information,education and communication) service, medical service and contraceptive distribution service.Methods:This study is a cross-sectional study.We adopt qualitative study and quantitative survey method to evaluate the study.We use close questionnaire to carry out the quantitative survey among floating women.We choose the study subjects from floating population to do Focus Group Discussion(FGD),exit interview and In-depth Interview(IDI),and also include the providers of family planning services center.The qualitative study and quantitative survey and its relevant activities are organized by the family planning service of Shenzhen,Nanshan and Dongguan.Every questionnaire had been checked by investigator,quality controller and principal of the field separately.The software EpiData3.0 was used to establish the database,and two special workers had put the data into the computers separately.Data was analyzed by the descriptive statistics and the Chi-square test with SPSS 13.0 statistic system.We had made the interview instrument, and trained the interviewers.We transcribed and coded the data,listed the sorting form, and wrote the report. Results:1.Basic demography data of floating populationIn the group,the oldest one is 48.99,the youngest one is 16.20,the average age is 29.17±6.27;cultural level:Junior high school and below accounted for more than 50%; marriage:The proportion of the married reached 90%,The average income:the incomes above one third of people is less than 1000 yuan,the incomes one third of people is 1000-1500 yuan;Employment:The worker and the commercial service personal accounted for more than 50 percent.88%married floating population do work for others together with their spouses,among them 87%married floating population live together with their spouses.2.status of using contraceptiveThe number of population who can adhere to using contraceptive accounts for less 1/3. Using condom accounts for 76.5%(7317/9562),but 1.4%floating population use no contraceptive.Failure to use condom accounts for 30%.42.7%floating population use no free contraceptive.The floating population with different age,educational degree, income has difference on using contraceptives.The percent of married floating population who can adhere to use contraceptive is higher than unmarried population.(the difference have statistic significance(the difference have statistic significance,all P＜0.01).The floating population with different age,educational degree,income has difference on using free contraceptives.The percent of married floating population who can get free contraceptive is higher than unmarried population.(the difference have statistic significance(the difference have statistic significance,all P＜0.01).The results from Logistic regression indicate the floating population who come from country,have higher educational degree and are married have higher probability to obtain free contraceptives.However the floating population with lower level reproductive knowledge,lower age,and lower income weaken the probability of obtaining free contraceptives.The most main approach of obtaining contraceptives is drugstore and supermarket(65%) and the next approach is family planning institution.The three approaches account for 80%.The floating population with different marry status, educational degree,and income has difference on the resource of obtaining contraceptives.35%floating population have doubts about the quality of free contraceptives.3332 women have experienced abortion,among them women with repeated abortion account for 26.6%of all abortion women;38.2%women resulted abortion from using no contraceptives,and 61.8%are the failure of contraception.Nearly 1/3 of failure of contraception is resulted from rhythm.The next reason is withdrawal and unsuccessful using condom accounts for about 1/4.3.demand and will of family planning service3.1 The advice and will to family planning IEC serviceFor IEC service,the most appropriate service provider is IEC personnel in family planning institution(44.6%),and the knowledge the floating population most need is the adverse reaction of contraceptives(28.9%).The most appropriate IEC approach is distributing the handbook(35.0%).The floating population with different educational degrees,occupations has difference on IEC service providers and the IEC knowledge they most need(P＜0.01).The results from Logistic regression indicate the floating population who have accepted IEC service and attending IEC service with their partners have higher satisfactory degree.(the difference have statistic significance)(all P＜0.01).3.2 The advice and will to family planning medical serviceThe best provider of family planning medical service is doctor in family planning institution(66.0%),and next one is the gynecological doctor in hospital(19.5%).The best need service is the reproductive examination(36.0%),next one is the reproductive and sex knowledge consultant(24.2%).The floating population with different educational degrees,married status and occupations has difference on service providers and the service they most need(P＜0.01).The percent of married floating population who can get free contraceptive is higher than unmarried population.(the difference have statistic significance)(all P＜0.01).The results from Logistic regression indicate the floating population who the bespeak service and medical guide service are provided to have higher satisfactory degree.However the lower age and educational degree can weaken the probability of satisfactory degree to accepting family planning medical service.3.3 The advice and will to contraceptive distribution serviceThe free contraceptive they most need is condom(81.7%);the best approach they most want is from their own work unit(32.2%),the next one contraceptive distribution station(24.2%).The best difficulty is shyness to obtain contraceptives(37.5%),and the next one is the inconvenience(27.2%).The floating population with different educational degrees,married status and income has difference on the free contraceptives they most need,the most difficulty they meet to get free contraceptives,and the approach they most need(the difference have statistic significance,P＜0.01).The results from Logistic regression indicate the floating population who are from country and married and have got the contraceptive specification at the same time have the higher satisfactory degree.However the lower age and age can weaken the probability of satisfactory degree to contraceptive distribution service.Conclusions1.The proportion of floating population with their partner is increasing great,and generally they lack reproductive knowledge.So they have high risk of unwanted pregnancy and more demand on contraceptive service.2.The proportion of floating population who can adhere to use contraceptives is very low and incidence of failure of contraceptive is high.3.Although some floating population has obtained the free contraceptives,the main approach of obtaining contraceptive is drugstore and supermarket.However the approach they most need is their own work unit.4.The proportion of induced abortion and repeated abortion of floating population are higher.The traditional contraceptives are the main failure,and the important reasons of induced abortion.5.For IEC service the knowledge the floating population most need is the adverse reaction of contraceptives.The most appropriate IEC approach is distributing the handbook.6.The free contraceptive they most need is condom;the best approach they most want is from their own work unit.The best difficulty is shyness to obtain contraceptives.7.There is some difference among IEC service,medical service and contraceptive service with different character population.
