Studies On The Seed Standards Of Abrus Cantoniensis And Abrus Mollis

Abrus cantoniensis Hance and Abrus mollis Hance are Guangxi native medicinal materials, in order to promote their standardization which can provide some foundation of germplasm identification, seed testing, seed production and can solve the seed dispute and seed quality irregularity, this dissertation completely described the characters of Abrus cantoniensis Hance and Abrus mollis Hance in different three areas and made the standards of the cultivars by observing and testing in three years, in order to provied the scientific bases for identifying and detecting the seeds. Referring to the International Seed Testing Rules made by ISTA and the Seed Testing for Crops (GB/T3543—1995) and the latest researches, several aspects including seeds sampling, the purity analysis, the germination test, verification of species, determination of moisture content, the TTC test and weight determination were studied. A rule of seed testing was established. Based on which 89 seed lots were collected and tested in five years and the resutls were analyzed by statistical methods. Then, the main standards for seed quality grading were established. Meanwhile, combining the technique of seeds collecting and seeds desiccation which can seriously affect seed quality, the technique rules of seed producing of Abrus cantoniensis Hance and Abrus mollis Hance were made.
