Study On Levels Of Soluble Adhesion Molecules, Interleupin 4 And Interleupin 10 In The Sera In Patients With Allergic Rhinitis And Bronchial Asthma

【Objective】To furtherly explore the effect of soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1),soluble vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 (sVCAM-1),soluble E-selectin(sE-selectin),interleupin 4(IL-4) and interleupin 10(IL-10)in pathogenesis of patient with Allergic rhinitis(AR) and Bronchial asthma.【Methods】33 patients with asthma,35 patients with AR,35 patients with AR accompanying bronchial asthma(BA) and 35 controls were included.The concentration odd sICAM-1,sVCAM-1,sE-selectin,IL-4,IL-10 in the sera was measured by double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.【Results】The level of sICAM-1,sVCAM-1,sE-selectin,IL-4 was greatly increased in every studied group than control group(P＜0.05).The level of IL-10 was also greatly increased in every studied group than control group(P＜0.01).There was statistical difference between the group of AR accompanying bronchial asthma and the group of bronchial asthma in the serum level of sICAM-1,sVCAM-1, sE-selectin,IL-4,IL-10.Significant positive correlations are discovered between IL-4 and sICAM- 1,sVCAM-1,sE-selectin,between IL-4 and IL-10,between IL-10 and sICAM-1,sVCAM-1,sE-selectin.【Conclusions】sICAM- 1,sVCAM- 1,sE-selectin, IL-4 may play a prominent role in the pathogenesis of AR and asthma.The serum level of it may reflect the activity of asthma and AR.The study shows that both AR and asthma are characterized by means of a similar inflammatory process through upregulation of adhesion molecules.IL-4 may play an important role in the process of upregulation of adhesion molecules.There was a close relation between the allergic inflammations of upper and lower respiratory tract.The elavation of IL-10 level in every studied group may be a result of the inflammatory process.
