Objective To investigate the difference of plasma sP-selectin level in different subtype of coronary heart disease and it's relationship with other vascular adhesion molecules and to explore the way to distinguish the unstable coronary artery plaque, and to discuss the clinical identification and predicting factor for the acute coronary syndrome(ACS)Methods 50 patients with coronary heart disease were selected were divided into two groups, the acute coronary syndrome group(ACS group) including 12 acute myocardial infarction(AMI)patients and 15 unstable angina pectoris(UAP) patients , and stable coronary heart disease group(SCHD group) including 23 patients;and other 22 patients were divided into control group.Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay was used to measure the plasma soluble P-selectin(sP-selectin),soluble intercellular adhesion molecule l(sICAM-l), and soluble vascular cell adhesion molecule 1(sVCAM-1).Results These three soluble vascular cell adhesion molecule level was significantly higher in patients with ACS group than in those of the control group (P<0 01). Comparised with ACS group and SCHD group, the sICAM-1 level showed no significant difference(P>0 05);while the sVCAM-1 level and sP-selectin level showed significant difference(P<0.05, P<0.01). The level of sP-selectin,sICAM-1, and sVCAM-1 showed no significant difference between AMI patients and UAP patients. Correlation analysis suggested sP-selectin level was positively correlated with sICAM-1 and sVCAM-1.Conclusion This study show elevated sP-selectin level may correlated with the pathogenesis of ACS, which may save as a potential marker of plaque unstability, and detection of sP-selectin and sVCAM-1 may help to identify of the unstable coronary artery plaque. sP-selectin may facilitates the ACS via up regulating the adhesion molecules expression...
