Objectives:To observe the clinical effects in treating Functional Dyspepsia (FD) caused by liver-depression and spleen deficiency.with Jian Pi Shu Gan Tang to analyze the mechanism of this therapy in treating FD .Methods:This research was based on 63 cases of outpatients with liver-depression and spleen deficiency from the clinic of the hospital attributed to TCM of shan dong province.They were randomly divided into two groups. One group was the treatment group,the patients of which were treated with Jian Pi Shu Gan Tang.The other group was the control group,with patients being treated with Xiao Yao Wan. Treatement group were made up of 32 cases and another were made up of 31 cases. These patients all met the TCM diagnosis criterion.Results:After one course of treatment,significant difference was apparent in the clinical effects:In the treatment group,9 cases recovered and 17 cases significantly improved,(thus the effectual rate is 81.25%),3 cases improved. The total effective rate in the treatment group is 90.63%. In the control group,4 cases recovered and 6 cases significantly improved,(thus the effectual rate is 32.26%),12 cases improved.The total effective rate in the control group is 67.74%.There was statistically significant difference in the total effective rate between the treatment group and control guoup(P<0.05).The effective rate from the treatment group is clearly superior.Conclusions:Above all, Jian Pi Shu Gan appears to have the significant effect in the treatment of FD caused by liver-depression and spleen deficiency. The mechanism of this therapy may be relation to the adjustment of gastrointestinal motility,the disgrace of the hypersensitivity viscera and the adjustment of gastrointestinal p and immunity.
