Objectives:To investigate the expression and significance of CD117,p73 and Ki67 in breast cancer,seeking their effect of development in breast cancer with tumor and to study the significance in the choice of therapy and judgement of prognosis.Materials and Methods:60 case of invasive breast ductal carcinoma and 20 case of breast ductal epithelial benign proliferative disease were selected from Dept.of Pathology,Yanbian Tumor Hospital in the period of 2001-2003.All of the breast cancer were detected using ER,PR,C-erbB-2,p53,PCNA in routine.The expression of CD117,p73 and Ki67 was examined by immunohistochemical technique(streptavidin peroxidase conjugate method,SP).And analysis their relationship with age,tumor size and axillary lymph-node metastasis used by statistics.Results:In 60 cases of invasive breast ductal carcinoma,the positive incidence of CD117 was 26.66%,the positive incidence of p73 was 48.33%and the Ki67 proliferation index was 76.66%.Otherwise,in 20 case of breast ductal epithelial benign proliferative disease,the positive incidence of CD117,p73 and Ki67 was 60%,10%and 25%respectively.It is existed distinguish apparently in two groups(P<0.01).The positive of CD 117 was mainly in cytoplasm and cytomembrane. p73 was expressed in cytoplasm and nucleus.And the expression of Ki67 was only in cell nucleus.In breast carcinoma tissues,the expression of CD117,p73 and Ki67 was positively related to axillary lymph-node metastasis(P<0.01),but was not related to patients age(P>0.05).In addition,p73 was positively related to tumor size and clinical stage.And Ki67 was positively related to clinical stage.In breast carcinoma tissues,the expression of CD117 was negatively related to p73(P<0.05),which was negatively related to Ki67 proliferation index as well(P<0.05).But the positive incidence of p73 was not related to Ki67.Conclusions:The decrease or absence of CD117 and the high expression of p73 and Ki67 closely correlate with the progress of breast carcinoma.Meanwhile,CD117, p73 and Ki67 were all remarkably related to axillary lymph-node metastasis.It is helpful to detect these indexes in prognosis judgement and therapy for breast carcinoma.
