Ciwujia,also known as wujiashen and thom Shui rods,is drying roots and rhizomes of Acanthopanax senticosus(Rupr.et Maxim.)Harms.The root bark of which has been listed in the Chinese herbal drug pharmacopoeia,which is mainly distributed in northeast and northern China in Shanxi,Sichuan,Guangxi and other places.The leaves,stems and fruit of this plant can also be available for medicinal,the bark called Wujiapi iS also for medicine.The pharmacological effects of Ciwujia at home and abroad shows that:can enhance the body non-specific defense capability,with the exception of immune regulation,anti-tumor and anti-aging,anti-radiation damage and anti-fatigue effects,but also for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease, diabetes,neurasthenia,and other symptoms.The main chemical compounds on roots and rhizomes of Ciwujia are phenol glycoside compounds,including lupane-triterpene giycoside,3,4-seco-lupane type,Oleanane type,3β-Hydroxy-oleanen-type and 3α-Hydroxy-oleanen-type,also contain coumarin,fatty acids,volatile oil, lignans,flavonoids,polysaccharides,amino acids,trace elements,and so on.In order to find out the antitumor activity compounds,the stem of the root bark of Acanthopanax senticosus from Yanji city,has been investigate.Six compounds have been isolated from the ethanolic extract of Acanthopanax senticosus by repeatedly chromatography on normal,final purification by reversed preparative HPLC,preparative TLC and ODS.On the basis of detailed analysis of the spectral data(such as 1H-NMR,13C-NMR,2D-NMR,MS,IR ets.) and chemical method,six compounds were elucidated together.These compounds are as following:Stigmasta-5,22-dien-3-ol(Ⅰ), oleanic acid(Ⅱ),scoparone(Ⅲ),stigmasta-3-O-glucopyranoside (Ⅳ),Liriodendrin(Ⅴ).Among them,CompoundsⅠ,CompoundsⅢandⅣwere isolated from this plant for the first time.The structure of compoundsⅥto be determined.
