| Acanthopanax senticosus Harms is one of the commonly used traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). 30 samples were collected from different habitats and different butches and the quality contral was developed.l.Syringin which is the effective constituent of Acanthopanax senticosus Harms was isolated and identified. The quantity Reference of Syringin is made by ourself. A method for the determination of the concentration of syringin in Acanthopanax senticosus Harms was established by using HPLC. The mobile phase consisted of methanol-acetonitrile-water-glacial acetic acid (14:1:85:1,v:v:v:v) . The UV detection wavelength was set at 270 nm. The calibration curve was linear in the range from 1.24 μg·mL-1 to 31.0μg·mL(-1), with r = 0.9997. The average recovery was 100.1 % (RSD2.2%). The assay methods are simple,rapid and with good reproducbility. And the contents of syringin in 30 Acanthopanax senticosus Harms samples were determined, respectively, by using this method.2.
