Objective:CCM is the common cerebral angionosis. There was less document about the pathogenesy of CCM.The opinions about the pathogenesy of CCM were repugnant. There was less news about expression, the clinical significance and correlation of VEGF and TGF-αprotein in CCM tissue in China. To explore expression and significance of VEGF and TGF-αprotein in CCM tissue. Methods:To detecte the expression of VEGF and TGF-αprotein in 25 surgical samples of CCM tissue and 25 normal brain tissue samples by immunohistochemical method from Jan,2004 to Feb,2006,the clinical significance and correlation of VEGF and TGF-αprotein were analyzed.Results:1.The positive rate of VEGF protein in CCM tissue was 96%(24/25),and that in the normal brain tissue was only 4%(1/25), There were significant differences in the expression of VEGF protein in two kinds of specimens(P<0.05);2.The positive rate of TGF-αprotein in CCM tissue was 92% (23/25),and that in the normal brain tissue was only 4%(1/25),There were significant differences in the expression of TGF-αprotein in two kinds of specimens(P<0.05);3.There was positive relationship between expression of VEGF and TGF-αprotein in CCM tissue(P>0.05).Conclusion:1.Both VEGF and TGF-αprotein were no obvious expression in the normal brain tissue;2.Both VEGF and TGF-αprotein were obvious positive expression in CCM tissue, the likelihood of etiopathology may relate to the positive expression of VEGF and TGF-αin CCM tissue;3.There was direct correlation between expression of VEGF and TGF-αprotein in CCM tissue.
