Objective:To investigate cerebral cavernous malformations surgery and gamma knife treatment methods and effect. Methods:Clinical data of the 194 patient suffering cerebral cavernous malformations, which have ever been treated in the first affiliated hospital of Guangxi Medical university. There were 68 patients in the craniotomy group, and 126 patients in the GSK group. Then statistic analysis was made respectively in Treatment of hemorrhage, epilepsy, complications and treatment of multiple lesions.Results:194 patients in total were followed up for 6 months to lOyears, The two group have statistically significant difference in treatment of epilepsy (P<0.05),and complication(P<0.05). Craniotomy group were only removed 1 lesions, two lesions of one patient were treated with only 1 lesions in the medulla oblongata, five lesions of cerebral cavernous malformations were treated with only three lesions. Multiple lesions in the rest cases were treated simultaneously. Conclusion:Craniotomy and gamma knife can effectively control and improve the postoperative seizures.Gamma knife is safe and effective and has certain advantages in the treatment of multiple intracranial cavernous hemangioma. For cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, age of patients, who could not tolerate surgery, and lesions which are in basal ganglia, brainstem, deep brain and adjacent to the main functional areas, surgical resection is difficult and postoperative prone to complications, gamma knife is ideal treatment. Asymptomatic patients should be treated as early as possible.
