ObjectiveTo investigate hospice care knowledge status and attitudes of physicians and nurses in grade one,two,three hospital,analyse influencial factors relate to hospice care knowledge and attitudes,explore influencial factors' level,examine the difference of knowledge and attitudes between physicians and nurses.MethodWe conducted a cross-sectional study of physicians and nurses affiliated with 700 randomly selected in grade one,two,three hospital. The questionnaire consists of common data,hospice care knowledge, hospice care attitude.We analysis the data with spss13.0,Statistics methods include Descriptive Statictics,T-Test,ANOVA,Kruskal-Wallis Tests,Pearson Correlation.Results1.The survey of 700 physicians and nurses were conducted 592 respondents(84.6%)completed the survey.2.The mean score of knowledge obtained from the questionnaire was 11.68,There were statistically significant difference among different grade hospitals(P<0.05).3.The mean score of attitudes obtained from the questionnaire was 98.04,There were statistically significant difference between physicians and nurses(P<0.05).4.There were negative correlation between hospice care knowledge and attitudes(r=-0.082,P=0.047).5.Influencial factors of knowledge include education background, annual income,family pattern,nation,hospital grade.Influencial factors of attitudes include education background,family Pattern,nation, religious belief.Conclusion1.Physicians and nurses master the basic knowledge of hospice care fairly good,they lack deep comprehension about hospice care philosophy and generally lack the knowledge of pain management.2.Hospice care knowledge are influented by education background, income,family pattern,nation and the hospital grade.3.Hospice care attitudes are positive,but physicians and nurses feel uncomfortable confronting death,the data highlight some of the barriers to communicate with patients and families.4.Influencial factors of attitudes include education background, family pattern,nation,religious belief.5.There were no significant differences among hospital in terms of hospice care attitudes.However,there were statistically significant differences among hospital in terms of knowledge,the grade three hospital get the most high scores,the grade one hospital get the lowest scores.6.There were no significant differences between physicians and nurses in terms of hospice care knowledge.There were statistically significant differences between physicians and nurses in terms of attitudes, the attitudes of nurses are more positive than physicians.7.There were negative correlation between hospice knowledge and attitudes.
