Objective To study the relationship between the genotype of hepatitis B virus and clinic pathological grading in patients with chronic hepatitis in Lanzhou City of Gansu Province. Methods Eighty-eight HBV-DNA positive chronic hepatitis patients were randomly enrolled,68 of them were males and 20 were females with average age(38.5±11.4)year old.Among 88 patients,15 patients had ASC,CHB 39,LC 20, 14 had HCC.The genotypes of their serum HBV,liver function,HBV markers, HBV-DNA load were detected, out of 88 patients,39 accepted a liver biopsy and pathological grading. Results The serum samples of 88 cases, C genotype 60 cases(68.18%),B genotype 17 cases(19.32%),B/C genotype 8 cases(9.09%),non-B / C genotype 3 cases(3.41%).C and B genotypes in HBeAg positive or negative showed differences(p>0.05),but C genotype DNA,ALT,AST,TBIL were higher than B,the difference was statistically significant(p<0.05),In liver pathological detection, among 26 patients with C genotype,21 cases(80.77%)showed moderate or severe inflammation histologicully in their livers and llpatients with B genotype,3 cases (27.28%)showed moderate or severe inflammation, the difference was statistically(p<0.05),The proportion of C genotype significantly different from that of B genotype in those that showed moderate and severe(S3-4)liver fibrosis(p<0.05).Conclustions Genotype C,B HBV are mainly found in eighty-eight patients in Lanzhou City, and genotype C was the predominant,The liver pathological damage levels of genotype C HBV infected patients is more serious than that of genotype B.
