Clinical Study On Xiao'er Ke Chuan Ning Oral Liquid For Children's Acute Cough

Cough is an ordinary symptom in children' s disease,lt' s is a difficult probrem for TCM doctorsdand modern medical doctors.They have much difficulty in dealing this problem.In modern science cough is regarded as a symptom of respiratory infection,so antibody and pholcodine are used to deal with this proplem.But 90%respiratory infections are caused by virus.Antibody can' t kill virus.Pholcodine will do harm to children if it is used usually.Traditional Chinese Medicine doctors have much experience in healing respiratory infection especially children' s cough.Professor Xu have a good idea in treating children' s cough.He find there are chilling symptoms in children' s respiratory infection,especially in Guangzhou.So he think children cough is caused bychilling as TCM' s theory.His theory is base on famous doctors' in old days.He make xiao' er ke chuan ning Oral liquid to deal with problem.This medicine heal many children' s cough.We want to to evaluate the therapeutic effect and safety of xiao' er ke chuan ning for children' s acute cough and find it' s side effect.In traditional theory,TCM has less side effect than modern medicine.If is true,we can use it to deal with children' s cough.Objective:xiao' er ke chuan ning oral liquid is a effective medicine for children' s acute cough made by TCM hospital of guang dong province base on Professor Xu' s theory,we want to evaluate the therapeutic effect and safety of xiao' er ke chuan ning for children' s acute cough in this study.Methods:220 case of acute cough in TCM hospital of guang dong province were randomly divided into treatment group(n=110)and control group(n=110).23 %cases were planed to be missing.Both group were treated by routine therapy.The treatment group was added by xiao' er ke chuan ning while the control group was Phoicodine co.rhey had been treated for 1 week.The effectiveness on the recovery of the cough were investigated. Results:Both group were treated by routine therapy.The treatment group was added by xiao' er ke chuan ning while the control group was Pholcodine co.The effect on cough and phlegm is investigated,the effective rate(88.6%)in the treatment group was as well as that(90.2%)of the control group(p＞0.05)Conclusion:xiao' er ke chuan ning is an effective prescription for treatment of children' s acute cough.The effectiveness is as well as Pholcodine co.We can' t find distinctive side effect of xiao' er ke chuan ning in this clinic study.Children won' t addit to it after recovery in our investigation.We can use it to replace Pholcodine co in treating children' s cough.
