BackgroundCoronary heart disease is one of the main death-causing factors of heart disease. The worldwide incidence of coronary heart disease(CHD) has been on the increase and what is worse, the patients CHD tend to be younger in recent years. We will be faced with the challenge of the heart diseases in the twenty first century. As a result, prevention and treatment of CHD has been one of the much-concerned subjects for both cardiologists and researchers. The method of percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) which mainly include percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty(PTCA) and intracoronary stenting has become an important method in treatment of coronary heart disease. But irregular dissection and proliferation of tunica intima, recoil and remodeling, acute occlusion and restenosis have prevented the development of coronary intervention. The complex process of RS hasn't been clearly defined, which is generally thought to be caused by vascular injury, elastic recoil, proliferation of endometrium, vascular remodeling, changes of vascular activity material, high appearance of various kinds of growth factor, and cell apoptosis. The hypotheses which connect to RS are inflammation, thrombosis, tumour and vascular remodeling. And the methods for prevention of RS were not confirmed. So the process and prevention of RS are the trouble for coronary intervention. Some study indicated that myocardial injure and inflammatory reaction from PCI have relation to recurrence of coronary disease and RS.Studies indicated that administering 40mg or 80mg Atorvastatin dialy in 7 days before PCI can significantly reduce the myocardial injury and inflammatory reaction for the unstable angina pectoris(UAP) patients.Aims①To study the myocardial injure and inflammatory reaction from PCI in patients with unstable angina pectoris.②To study the effect of Atorvastatin on myocardial injure and inflammatory reaction from PCI in patients with unstable angina pectoris who administering 20mg Atorvastatin dialy befor PCI for 4 weeks.MethodsIn the study,64 UAP patients(M37/F27,60.5±5.8years) were selected in the department of cardiology in Xijing hospital from June,2007 to December, 2007.The two treatment groups were received Atorvastatin 20mg daily or non-station 4 successive weeks before PCI.And CK- MB,cTnI and hs-CRP of the blood from elbow vein were monitored before the procedure and 8,24 hours after the procedure of PCI. ResultsThe markers(CK-MB,cTn-I and hs-CRP) of two groups were elevated after PCI.However, the ascended value of markers in the Atorvastatin treatment group were significantly lower than those of the compared group(p<0.01).Conclusions①PCI can cause myocardial injure and inflammatory reaction to the UAP patients.②Dministering 20mg Atorvastatin daily in 4 successive weeks before PCI can significantly reduce the myocardial injury and inflammatory reaction from PCI.
