BACKGROUND:As rising of the fifth information technology revolution,computer technology have been acquired widely applications in all walks of life.After nearly forty years of development,database technology has recognized as the core and basement of information society.Web-based database is the one of newly database,and it combined webs advantages and database advantages.Thus,Web-based database is the common development direction for web and databases.ASP technology has more obviously advantages than others database acquisition technology,it has become the mainstream technologies in the latest time.Access database has become more common form of medium or small database,so,ASP+ Access has widely used in web-based database.OBJECTIVE:To establish web-based database of orbital diseases so as to realize five objections:effectively manage data,utilize data,statistics and inquest data,data sharing by internet technology.METHODS:First,the specialist fields of orbital database was refined with aggregating orbital characteristics of the disease and referencing orbital disease authoritative books.Second,according to the analysis of clinical application,logical structure and function modules were designed.Third,ASP and Access database was used in the web-based database of orbital disease,its database system was B/S module.RESULTS:Based on the database to Access2003,web-based database of orbital disease,which include five function modules:user management,electronic case system, inquiring,statistics,disease management categories,was successfully constructed.Five objection,which was effectively data management,data utilization,statisticing and inquiring data,data sharing by interact technology,was realized.In the inquiring modules, photo inquiring was a special function which separate photo information into fields forms,thus reaching at needs of photo inquiring.Moreover,the database play an important roles in dealing with a large sarnple data,writing research papers,undergraduate teaching and postgraduate education.The database include 188 specialist fields of orbital database.CONCLUSION:After construction of web-based orbital database,some cases, which was the patients with orbital cavernous hemangioma fiom 2002 to 2007,was entered into it so as to testing its reliability and practicality.Meanwhile,relatively information was extracted by database function in order to carry out analysis on hospitalization expenses.Operating results suggest that the database arrived at normalization of entering data,electronization of medical records management, convenient of statisticing and inquiring data,sharing of relatively data.Through the analysis of hospitalization expenses,we found that during six years,the average hospitalization expenses was 7 071.41 Yuan and the median of hospitalization expenses was 7 038.67 Yuan,the top three fee in a proportion of hospitalization costs was surgical materials fees(54.33%),western medicine costs(13.30%),laboratory tests fees (8.14%).the conclusions were drawn factors influencing the hospitalization expenses of orbital cavernous hemangioma were multiple,and synthetic measures should be taken in.
