Laboratory Study Of Effects Of Bushenzhuanggu Capsules On Postmenopausal Osteoporosis In Experimental Rat

Objective Studying the effects of Bushenzhuanggu capsules on some indexes of ovariectomied rats,the indexes including bone mineral density,biomechanics of the bone,pathology of the bone and relative bone cell biology,to understand the theory of correlationship between kidney and bone in tranditional Chinese medicine.Methods We selected 84 female rats in the study,they were randomly divided into 7groups:shamed operations group,model group,diethylstilbestrol group,gushukang group,Bushenzhuanggu capsule at high,medium,low dosegroups,every group had 12 rats.After success of model,we fed rats for 90 days under the same situation,then the drugs were initiated separately on each rats.All rats were sacrificed, the blood were collected to be inspected respectively,serum Estradiol(E₂),Alkaline phosphatase(ALP),Inter leukine- 1(IL- 1),bone density,biomechanics of the bone and pathology of the bone were detected.Results The results indicated that Bushenzhuanggu capsule increased the level of serum E₂,but decreased the level of ALP and IL - 1;increased bone density,improved obviously properity of biomechanics of the bone;The length,width,dry Weight and net weight of the bone increased.Conclusions Bushenzhuanggu capsule increased the level of serum E₂ of ovariectomied rats;suppressed the absorption of the bone, promoted the bone synthesis through the effects like estrogen;increased bone density,properities of bone tissue,biomechanic and bone stress;heightened the ability to resist outside impulsion; enhanced the length,width,dry weight and net weight of the bone.This study had remarkable effect to Postmenopausal Osteoporosis resulted from ovariectomied rats.From above objective indexes,we found that Bushenzhuanggu capsules,which depending on principle of strengthening kidney and bone in theory of Chinese traditional medicine,could treat effectively Osteoporosis of ovariectomied rats.
