Objective: To observe the effects of Jinkuishenqiwan and micronutrients on androgen level and anti-oxidation in male mice induced by D-galactose.Methods:1. Grouping:Sixty ICR male mice were randomly divided into two groups according to their weights: 12 in the normal control group and 60 in the senile model group.2. Establishing the senile model:The mice in the senile model group were given D-galactose through subcutaneous injection and the ones in the control group injected equal 0.9%sodium chloride once per day. All the mice had common feedstuff and drank water freely. After 6 weeks, confirming if the model is successfully made by checking the activity of GHS-PX and SOD in the blood.3. Experiments:The successfully made senile model group was further divided into five subgroups: model control group; jinkuishenqiwan in low dose group; jinkuishenqiwan in high dose group; jinkuishenqiwan in low dose plus micronutrient group; jinkuishenqiwan in high dose plus micronutrient group. Each group was treated with distilled water, 80mg/ml jinkuishenqiwan liquid, 125mg/ml jinkuishenqiwan liquid, 80mg/ml jinkuishenqiwan liquid plus micronutrients, 125mg/ml jinkuishenqiwan liquid plus micronutrients respectively. The mice in five groups had common feedstuff and drank water freely. After 6 weeks, checking the indices as follows, the serum androgen level, the activity of GSH-PX and SOD in blood, lung, liver, brain and heart.Result:1. The effect of the jinkuishenqiwan and micronutrients to the androgen,SOD and GSH-PX level in blood of the senile male mice induced by D-galactose: The androgen,SOD and GSH-PX levels of the senile mice in the four experimental groups are all increased in different degree. The indices in low dose are higher group than those in high dose group. The effects are enhanced after adding micro-nutrients (except androgen). There are significant difference between jinkuishenqiwan groups and jinkuishenqiwan plus micronutrients groups(P < 0.05).2. The effect of the jinkuishenqiwan and micronutrients to the SOD and GSH-PX level in tissues of the senile male mice induced by D-galactose: The activity of GSH-PX and SOD in lung, liver, brain and heart in therapeutic groups were obvious increased (except the SOD in lung in low dose group). And the indices of the high density group were statistically higher than the low density group(P < 0.05). The effect is enhanced when treated with micro-nutrients together.Conclusion:1. Jinkuishenqiwan displayed positive effect on increasing androgen level of the senile male mice induced by D-galactose.2. Jinkuishenqiwan can increase the effect of SOD, GSH-PX in the blood and tissues of the senile male mice induced by D-galactose. And it displayed dose-effect relation.3. The drug effect can be enhanced after treating with micro-nutrients together.
