Urolithiasis is classifieed to type of Qi Stagnation, Blood Stasis and downward damp-heat, kidney yin deficiency and kidney yang deficiency by《The Guiding Principles on Research of New Medicine in Chinese Traditional Medicine》(1993) published by the Chinese Ministry of Health, which is recognized to be suitable for clinical.[Objectives] This research summarizes the therapeutic efficacy of Qianglipaishi recipe in the treatment of Urolithiasis, comparing with the efficacy of it in the treatment of types of Qi stagnation and blood stasis and downward damp-heat by Qianglipaishi recipe, investigates the treatment mechanism of Qianglipaishi recipe, to improve the efficacy of treatment. 4 weeks was one course treatment and totally there were 3 courses. After each course finished every time, review B-Ultrasound to determine the state of the disease, and use SPSS 11.5 statistical software to analyze data.[Method] According to the diagnostic standard of urinary calculi in ((The Guiding Principles on Research of New Medicine in Chinese Traditional Medicine)) publish by the Chinese Ministry of Health in 1993, 40 patients were randomly divided into treatment group of 30 cases and control group of 10 as well. The treatment group had 30 samples, and the control group had 10 samples. Both groups took Tonglinpaishi recipe provided by Preparation Room of the first affiliated hospital, Guangzhou University of TCM orally and drank 2000ml or more water. At the same time, treatment group also took Qianglipaishi recipe.[Results]1.With 30 cases in treatment group and 10 cases in control group, the total effective rate of two groups were 90% and 60%, respectively. Treatment group was better than control group. There was a significant difference between them (P<0.05).2. In treatment group, there were 9 cases in type of Qi stagnation and blood stasis, and 21 cases in the type of downward damp-heat. The total effective rate of types of Qi stagnation and blood stasis and downward damp-heat in treatment group were 88. 9% and 90. 48%, respectively, while the total effective rate in control group was 60%. The total effective rate of two types in treatment group was better than that in control group. There was significant difference among these three groups (P<0.05).3. In treatment group, including 20 cases in kidney calculi, 8 cases in ureteral calculi and 2 cases in bladder stone. The total effective rate of those three types were 90%, 87.5% and 100%, respectively, while the total effective rate in control group was 60%. The total effective rate of three types in treatment group was better than that in control group. There was significant difference among these three groups (P<0.05).4. The distributions of kidney calculi, ureteral calculi, bladder stone in control group and treatment group didn't have significant difference (P>0. 05). The distributions of kidney calculi, ureteral calculi, bladder stone in types of Qi stagnation and blood stasis and downward damp-heat have significant difference (P<0. 05).[Conclusion]1. Qianglipaishitang has a better therapeutic efficacy in the treatment of Urolithiasis, especially to the patients with the type of downward damp-heat. At the same time, Qianglipaishi recipe has a better therapeutic efficacy in the treatment of Urolithiasis.2.There was a significant difference of therapeutic efficacy of Qianglipaishi recipe in the treatment of types of Qi stagnation and blood stasis and downward damp-heat. The relationship of this difference and the cause and pathology in western medicine will be determined continuously.3. The distributions of different-located Urolithiasis in types of Qi stagnation and blood stasis and downward damp-heat have a significant difference. It is worth to determine whether traditional Chinese medicine typing methods of Urolithiasis can use classification diagnosis of western medicine as a source of reference.
