the cause of one of the most important factors。In recent years the study of KOA is becoming more and more in the world,and the researchers find that the therapy of KOA with the drugs has much defect such as great by-effect and expensive price,etc. So the study of traditional Chinese medicine in preventing and curing KOA is being attached importance to more and more。According to the etiology and pathogenesis,KOA can belongs to the category of "Arthralgia syndrome", "Arthralgia syndrome of bone" "Knee arthralgia syndrome ","Wei(atrophy) syndromes" or "Arthralgia and Wei(atrophy)syndromes",KOA is considered that it has mainly relation with the insufficiency of liver,deficiency of kidney deficiency and blood stasis。Currently typing according to syndrome differentiation of KOA is in a muddle,because the recognizatioh to onset and process of KOA is different;So the standard of typing according to Syndrome differentiation of KOA is unified,and the study of the clinica Epidemiology of TCM pathogenisis in KOA is much little.It baffles KOA canonicaI treating according to the syndromes at certain degeree,further attecting the exaltation of the clinical whole curative effect of TCM.This research adopts the way of combining the epidemiologica study and the strict modern statistics method,which tries to find the main syndrome of KOA and the distribution of them.Participants326 csaes disgnosed with KOA and accord with the standard bring into who see doctors during December 2006 to March 2008,in which 229 come from the GuangDong provincial of TCM and the others come from the ZhuHai hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.MethodsFirstly,we designed the Investigation Format of TCM on the basis of the anylasis result of related articles and books.Secondly,we just investigated KOA patients and make records carefully.Thirdly we input and check the investigated data adopting the SPSS 11.5;In the end we adopt the statistics method involved the descriptive method and the Hiearchical Cluster method analyzing the established data base.ResultsSyndrome groups through the heart of the description and cluster analysis,the final combination of expertise,Syndrome Syndrome standards of knee osteoarthritis were Initial developed,In the knee osteoarthritis of the nine categories of syndromes,deficiency of kidney-YANG,blood stasis and blocking channels and collaterals,liver-kidney YIN deficiency, cold dampness resistance channels and collaterals for common syndromes are common syndrome of KOA,deficinency of the spleen and kidney-yang syndrome,phlegm and wet resistance resistance channels and collaterals, deficinency of the kidney essence,deficiency of the spleen and blood, pathogenic heat and wet resistance resistance channels and collaterals are may syndrome of KOA.In the clinic the common symptoms of the nine syndrome as blow:The common symptoms of deficinency of the kidney-yang syndrome are as follows:Knee pain or soreness,running negative,the back and knee joints weak and looking pale,body or knee fearing the cold and wanting warm,weak taste and not thirsty,clear and longurine or urinating frequently at night,feint tongue and pale coating,deep,thin and weak pulse.The common symptoms of deficiency ofdeficinency of the liver and kidney-yin syndrome are as follows:Knee pain or soreness,running negative,Back pain,damp and hot face,with damp hot and sweating,dizzy and eyes aningeresting,vexed and insomnia,dry stool,litte and yellow urine,red tongue and thin coating,thin and fast pulse.The common symptoms of blood stasis and
