Objective To explore the discrimination of the clinical characters of difference nationality patients with depressive disorder in XinJiang. Method Select patients with depressive disorder from January 2003 to December 2007 and retrospectively analyze their clinical data. Adopt general information, clinical characters, Hamilton depression rating scale (HAMD) and Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS)to test difference nationality patients with depression disorder. Results There are no significant nationality differences in general information. In terms of clinical characters , the symptoms of suicide idea and suicide behavior are less in the Uygur patients, but the symptoms of hopelessness,anepithymia, somatization,anxiety,sleep disorder,hallucination,delusion,and obsession have no markly difference between the Uygur and Han patients. The total scores of HAMD and SDS are difference between the Uygur and Han patients, the factor in suicide of HAMD in the Uygur patients significantly lower in the Han patients. Conclusion There are some differentia in clinical characters between the Uygur and Han patients with depressive disorder in XingJiang.
