Objective: To evaluate AIDS KAP and relevant factors among moniority undergraduates of four non-medical universities in Wrumqi, and to provide scientific evidences for Xinjiang educational department to constitute and carry out AIDS health education program on undergraduates. Methods: 5259 moniority undergraduates of non-medical universities were investigated in Wrumqi. an anonymous questionnaire was used to collect information about AIDS related knowledge attitude and practice from moniority undergraduates random selected in a grade among four non-medical universities. Spearman correlate and Logistic regression method were applied to analysis this data for HIV/AIDS. Results: The awarenes rate on AIDS was low among moniority undergraduates of non-medical universities in Wrumqi. means of knowledge scale was 10.16(the total was 22), basic knowledge was 5.86 csale ;about knowledge of AIDS non-transmission was 1.36 csale; as a group they displayed a high level of knowledge was 2.95 scale about AIDS transmission. male undergraduates'awareness rate is better than that of female undergraduates.Means of attitude scale was 2.22(the total was 20).2.47 scale of male;2.02 scale of female. Moniority undergraduates of non-medical universities hadn't clearly understood AIDS and discriminated seriously against HIV infected person and AIDS patients. The trend of dodge was obvious. Male undergraduates appeared more active than the female undergraduates. 18.00% sexually active undergraduates used condom during their sex. 21.41% of male undergraduates with sexual experience had ever used condoms is better than 8.96% of female undergraduates.moreover,1.65% of moniority undergraduates have a history of drug abuse in non-medical universities,1.08% of moniority undergraduates of non-medical universities had used intravenous drugs. There was a positive correlation between knowledge and attitude score(r=0.632,P<0.05). Logistic regression showed that sex, specialty, nation and grade were main factors influencing the knowledge. Conclusion: Among four universities, the scales of AIDS cognition are very lower and discriminated seriously against HIV infected person and AIDS patients, sexually active undergraduates of non-medical universities used condom had low level during their sex . we should give full consideration to risky behavior on used drugs. Consequently, we must strengthen health education about AIDS among undergraduates of Xinjiang, and the cultural background of undergraduates of different nationalities should be fully considered, takes the effective intervention measure.
