Objectives To investigate the association between essential hypertension(EH)merged with Nonalcoholic fatty liver (NAFL) and Metabolic syndrome (MS). Methods 409 hypertensives who had hospitalized in hypertension department and receive the test of liver by Type B ultrasonic waves during 2006-2007 year were choosed. Body height, blood pressure, the level of plasma lipid,Hepatic function, kidney function, plasma glucose were investigated. We analyzed the level and homeostasis model assessment of them in two groups with using t test, rank sum test, Logistic regression analysis. Resultsâ‘ The prevalences of metabolic syndrome and fatty liver were 76.28% and 66.03% respectively. The prevalence of fatty liver in MS group were significantly higher than that of non-MS group (P < 0. 01).â‘¡In EH merged with NAFL group, the levels of ALT, AST, GGT,TG,TC, FBG,2hPG, SUA and BMI were significantly higher than those in the simple EH group(P<0.05),and the level of HDL-C was significantly lower than it in the simple EH group(P<0.05) . The result of logistic regression equation suggested that the FBG, BMI, TG were independent risk factors of fatty liver (P < 0.05 all), and HDL-C was a protective factor of fatty liver.â‘¢In MS merged with NAFL group, the levels of BMI, TG were significantly higher than those in the simple MS group(P<0.05), and in pure EH group , in group of MS, the levels of BMI, TG were significantly higher than those in the simple EH group(P<0.05). It indicated that abnormal of BMI and TG were the basis of EH, MS and MS merged with NAFL. Conclusions Insulin resistance plays an important role in both hypertension and fatty liver. It may be the pathogenesis of hypertension with fatty liver. Nonalcoholic fatty liver is closely related with metabolic syndrome, Nonalcoholic fatty liver was a risk factor of MS;...
