Objective: Research and discuss the functionality of insulin β cell and the characteristics of insulin resistance of the patients with non alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).Method:Research subjects are collected from the teaching hospital of QingDao University and the people’s hospital of Jimo City. The total number is61with NAFLD (experimental group)30and non-NAFLD (control group)31. The BMI, glycosylated hemoglobin, cholesterol, triglyceride, high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein, blood sugar and insulin level of the two groups are compared. In addition, the insulin resistance is evaluated with HOMA-IR method. The bottom area of the insulin curve reflects the overall states of how insulin βcell secretes insulin with the glucose irritation.△I30/△G30、 HOMA-β evaluate the secreting functionality of the early phase insulin and late phase insulin.Insulin a cell functionality is represented by the comparing the insulin blood sugar secreting volume of the two groups from0min to120min during the OGTT experiment. The secreting and storing function is evaluated by peak multiple of insulin secretion. The parameters and their affecting factors are analyzed with correlation. Results: The weight, BMI, TC, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C, HbAlc, Omin,30min,120min blood sugar are all higher than those of the control group (t=2.21~4.87, P<0.05-0.01) The HOMA-IR of NAFLD is also greater(t=4.482, P=0.001), There are little difference between the curve bottom area of early phase secreting and late phase secreting(P>0.05).The glucagon of either group reaches the secreting peak at60min. The peak multiple of NAFLD group was significantly lower than the control group (t=2.42.P=0.02).The difference of the secreting volume of glucagon between the two groups at each phase is insignificant for statistics (P>0.05).Conclusion:Patients with non alcoholic fatty liver disease have insulin resistance and impaired β cell function.
