Objective Comparing continuous subcutaneous insulin injection (CSII) and multi- subcutaneous insulin injection (MSII), which have an impact on type 2 diabetics in the perioperative period of the clinical indicators, discusing a best way to control the plasma glucose of diabetes mellitus patient in perioperation period. Methods Chosen from 60 diabetes mellitus patients received operation from July 2007 to March 2008.Divided into 2 groups randomly, Patients in group A accepted CSII treatment and patients in group B accepted MSII treatment.Comparing the blood glucose of the two groups before and after the treatment and observing the time and changes of some clinical indexes of each group to analyse by statistics. Results The plasma glucose level of patients in both groups dropped remarkably after the two treatments ( P < 0. 01).The average time of the blood glucose gets to the target in CSII is (2.03±0.73)d, was much lower than MSII, with (2.93±1.17)d,which shows CSII can control the blood glucose more quickly; The average usage of the insulin is (33.80±6.60)U in CSII when it gets to the target, while it is (38.53±7.79)U in MSII,which also influence the result ( P<0.01 ); The rate of hypoglycemia and postoperative complications is no statistical significance in these two groups. Conclusion The insulin pump could control the blood glucose effective, safe, rapid and smooth, which guarantee the safety of the operation. It is the best choice to control the blood glucose for diabetics in perioperation period.
