Philosophical View On The Rebuilding Of The Modern Relations Between Doctors And Patients

A harmonious relation between doctors and patients is one of the basic factors to guarantee good medical results which can further guarantee people's health. People value their lives, so they attach much importance to medical results and show much concern for the delicate relations between doctors and patients. Nowadays, with the development of social economy, the quality of people's material and spiritual life get raised and people show more concern for their health and life values. Therefore, the relations between doctors and patients meet new challenges. How people understand and deal with the relations will be sure to be a focus and difficult problem in today's society.To be understood philosophically, dialectically and subjectively, doctors and patients are a contradictory couple forever existing in human society. In different historical periods, they have different features, directly influencing people's view and understanding of the contemporary medical level. Different experts and scholars have had an exploration of the relations from different aspects. Based on the former findings, this dissertation analyzes the relations and put forward a new idea of rebuilding of modern relations between doctors and patients. Apart from the preface, this dissertation falls into three parts.Part I discusses the status quo of the relations between doctors and patients, providing the definitions of the relations.Part II analyzes the reasons for the barrier in the communication between doctors and patients. There are various factors for causing some tension between doctors and patients, including pure technical problems and a certain profound social origin. But among those various factors, it can be seen more and more clearly that the inharmoniousness between doctors and patients, and between hospitals, doctors and patients, has great influence on building a harmonious relationship. Because of the misunderstanding, distrust, intolerance and disagreement, the tense situation of the relations between doctors and patients becomes more and more severe.Part III explores the rebuilding of the relations between doctors and patients from a philosophical view. This part argues that the dealing and the rebuilding of the relations is not only a communicative skill and a psychological problem, but also an important philosophical problem. Intending to change and build people's understanding about the relations between doctors and patients, this dissertation states that technical communication and non-technical communication should be integrated, that the dialectical unity of the contradictory couple doctors and patients and the realistic significance of the harmoniousness between the two should be deeply realized on the basis of China's national situation, and that harmonious relations between doctors and patients should be built.
