A Community Population-based Epidemiologic Investigate Of Chronic Constipation In Lu'an City

Objective Carry on the epidemiology investigation of the chronic constipation to community crowds of Lu'an city,Anhui province.Investigate prevalence of chronic constipations in Lu'an City,and analyze possible reason of the chronic constipation, provide the prevention and cure counterplan.Method A questionnaire survey was conducted among community residents aged≥18 years in Lu'an City by randomizing clustered sampling under stratification.The data were analyzed by logistic regression.Result A total of 3709 residents(male1898,female1811) were investigated.The prevalence of chronic constipation in Lu'an city is 3.75%according to RomeⅢcriteria. Among them male prevalence is 3.27%,female prevalence is 4.25%.The age-and gender- specific standardized constipation rates after gender and age adjustment was 3.39%.The occurrence of constipation increased over 60 years of age present the gradual up-trend.Straining,hard stool and incomplete evacuation were the top three severe symptoms in all the symptoms.Be constipated the patient contain 41.73%match the irritable bowel syndrome.The cultural degree,marital status,manual labor,smoke cigarette,alcohol etc weren't observably associated with chronic constipation.Logistic regression result manifestation hemorrhoids(OR=4.602),the next of kin constipation (OR=13.937),take a meal pickle the salty meat(OR=10.238) is risk factor of the constipation.Regulation defecation(OR=0.147),take a meal the thick food(OR=0.023), pickle(OR=0.315) can reduce the risk of the constipation.The SDS,SAS grade point of chronic constipation crowd is obviously higher against control group(P＜0.001).Conclusion The chronic constipation is a common disorder in community residents of Lu'an City,the prevalence of chronic constipation in Lu'an City is 3.39%according to RomeⅢcriteria.The prevalence of old people is higher.Foods,heredity factor and psychological factor etc were associated with risk factors for chronic constipation.The constipation brings about bad influence on the people's living quantity.
