| Background and Objective: It disputes the Effects of bacterial collagenase in wound healing. Some studies indicate that the bacterial collagenase is important in wound healing, some other literature consider it is not. Almost all of the studies observed the curative effect on some especial wounds (the burn, the hard-to-heal ulcer). The scientific and credible research in lab was lacking in all of these studies. This study tries to discuss the effects of bacterial collagenase to wound in the process of wound healing and its function mechanisms during this process. Methods: 28 New Zealand have chosen to be the subjects observed whose each limb was exscinded a wound about 3.0 centimeters in length and deep into the muscle. The wounds on the right limbs were soaked by bacterial collagenase liquor (the labora-torial group) and the ones on the left limbs were soaked by physiologic saline solution (the comparison group). Then, suture the wounds and soak them by the same solution when the dressing were changed e. o. d Observe the infection and collect the extra-vasate and the skin around the wound of 4 rabbits at the 1st, 2nd,3rd,5th,7th,10th and 14th day. The HE coloration of the skin were compared and commented by the pathologists blindly for us to know the wound healings in different time.Result: There are 56 wound samples both in laboratorial group and comparison group. There is one wound infected (found at the 3rd day) in laboratorial group, while three wounds infected (found at the 3rd and the 5th day) in comparison group. The infection rates were 1.79% and 5.36% respectively. The infected wound in laboratorial group is less than that in the comparison group. But the difference between the two groups has not reached the statistical significance (P=0.62) . The result of HE coloration of the skin also suggests that there still exists the difference in new capillary vessels, inflammatory cells, and epidermis regeneration between these two groups. Nevertheless, all these differences have not reached the statistic significance. (the values of Pare respectively 0.74,0.84, 0.33). But on the repair of collagen fibre, there are statistical significances between two groups. (P=0.01)Conclusion: Bacterial collagenase could not decrease the rate of infection directly. The study also indicates that it help the repair of the collagen fibre. But it has no obvious effects on the forming of new, the transferring of inflammatory cells and the rebirth of skin cell. It can not promote the wound healing obviously. The study indicates that the bacterial collagenase is not very important in wound healing by the sciense way. The Result challenges the trad concept and the trad concept of enzymatic debridement... |
