Study On Application Of Inteventional Therapy On Medium-sized And Small Artery Stenosis Or Occulusion Of Lower Limbs In Type 2 Diabetes

Objective This study reports the clinical data of 38 patients who underwent interventional therapy (ultrasound angioplasty, Balloon angioplasty, Expandable stent, Artery infusion) to study on comPlications ,short and mid-term results of inteventional therapy on medium-sized and small artery stenosis or occulusion of lower limbs in type 2 diabetes. Methods From April 2007 to december 2007,38 type 2 diabetic patients diagnosed artery stenosis or occulusion of lower limbs were registry, including 28 male (73.68%), and 8 female (26.32%), with age of 45-90,meam age 63±10 (year), mean diabetic induration of 10.8±6.4 (year). Patients were required walking length, measured feet temperature, ABI before interventional therapy and after a week and 3 months later. Results of 38 patients ,7 of them have foot ulcerations who were cured after therapy.22 patients had lower limb numbs, which were improved. All the patients felt feet warmed after therapy.21 patients had rest pain or intermittent lameness,12 of them were remitted ,3 of them were not remitted,3 of them were aggravate,4 of them could not be followed.12 patients walking length prolonged by 662.5±191.2 (m)(P<0.05) in 3 months. 13 patients'ABI elavated 0.25±0.11(P<0.05)(P<0.05)in interventional therapy side in one week.11 patients were measured ABI after 3 months .inteventional therapeutic side were elavated 0.18±0.06(P>0.05).12 patients'feet temparature elavated 0.39±0.11(℃) (P<0.05) in interventional therapeutic side.9 patients'feet temparature elavated 2.18±3.03(℃) (P>0.05) in interventional therapeutic side.12 patients had minor interventional thera -peutic complications which were cured. Conclusions interventional therapy can impr -oveed effectively artery stenosis and occlusions of lower limbs in type 2 diabetes in short term and medium term.as for long term effects, further study is required.
