Method From 1995 April to 2006 April, 21 patients with developmental dyplasia of hip were treated with total hip replacement at a mean age of 35.4 years (range from 18 to 54 years). Result the mean follow-up was 5.8 years (range 2-11 years), the Harris hip score improved from 31-52 to 85-92. No operation was complicated by deep infection. Conclusion total hip replacement with placement of the cup at the level of the true acetabulum can be recommended for patients with developmental dyplasia of hip who have serious hip pains and can not live normally.
