Clinical Research On Lumbar Muscle Strain Is Treated By Tonic Tendon And Tonifying Spleen

Objective: Observe the clinical therapeutic effect of the lumbar muscle strain by tonicing tendon and tonifying spleen, and the changes of the electromyography(EMG) before treatment or after treatment . To investigate mechanism of action of Jia Wei Shao yao Gan Cao decoction and supply objective standard of lumbar muscle strain .Methods: eighty-three cases that consistent with selected standard were divided into two groups randomly. Curing group, which has forty-one patients of Jia Wei Shao Yao Gan CaoTang decoction .Controlling group ,which has forty-two patients of Lu Nan Bei Te tablet. Jia Wei Shao yao Gan Cao Tang decoction were given twice a day, While the Lu Nan Bei Te tablet were given twice a day, two tablets in one time. The course of treatment was two weeks .The EMG were detected before or after treatment.The symptoms and physical signs were observed before or after treatment. Result: In the curing group, 7 cases were cured, 21 cases were apparent effectiveness, 10 cases were effectiveness, 3 cases were ineffectiveness,and the total apparent efficiency ratio is 92.68%. In the controlling group, 6 cases were cured, 10 cases were apparent effectiveness, 17 cases were effectiveness, 9 cases were ineffectiveness,and the total apparent efficiency ratio is 78.57%. There were no differences before treatment in both EMG and ameliorating Chinesemedicine symptom(Pï¹¥0.05)of the two groups.It had some differences after treatment in both EMG and ameliorating Chinesemedicine symptom(P<0.05)of the two groups. The curing group is superior to the controlling group which is significating in ameliorating Chinesemedicine symptom. (P<0.05).Comparing with prior treatment, two groups have amelioration in post treatment about their self comparison(P<0.05). There were no differences between the controlling group and the curing group after treatment in the symptoms of EMG(PP>0.05).It indicated that the two groups had some effects in changing lumbar muscle strain. Two cases of the controlling group had gastrointestinal side- reaction, but the curing group had no toxic and side-effect. Conclusion: Jia Wei Shao yao Gan Cao decoction could improve the symptoms and physical signs ,and it is a kind of safe and effective traditional Chinese method. The EMG has some value in clinical treatment of lumbar muscle strain.
