Objective : To study the change of immunocyte in the preoperative and postoperative patients with carcinoma of the esophagus and the stomach. Methods;Using flow cytometry and monoclonal antibodies toevaluate the levels of the subset of the periopheral blood T lymphocytes and NK cells in the preoperative and postoperative of 55patients(44patients with carcinoma of the esophagus 11 patients with carcinoma of the stomath). Results; 1.The levels of T lymphocytes were recovered after operation in the patient, CD3, and CD4 , CD4 /CD8 vatio increased and CD8 were decreased(P<0.01). The levelsof NK cells were increased.2.The increasement of postoperative WBC was correlated with the number vaised of CD3 and CD4 and the amount reduced of CD8 after 8 days.3. .patients with locally advanced than early, CD3, and CD4 , CD4 /CD8 were decreased and CD8 NK increased (P<0.05).4. CD3, and CD4 , CD4 /CD8 were decreased and NK increased in patients with lymph node metastases compaired with non-lymph node metastasis (P<0.05)Conclusion:1 Immune function were recovered after operation in the patient .2. Inflammation and infection after surgery is considered able to stimulate the immune reaction. This process might play a role in the enhancement of immune function. 3.patients with locally advanced have an abvious decress immune function than early 4 .Immune function in patients with lymph node metastases is significantly restained compaired with non-lymph node metastasis. 5.The surgical resection for carcinoma of the esophagus and carcinoma of the stomath.
