Objective: To investigate the disease composition and tendency of oral-maxillofacial diseases in aged inpatients and to provide reference for further protecting, the health of aged people. Methods: 519 cases inpatients with oral-maxillofacial diseases in the near 5 years were collected and analyzed including age, sex, pathology and progress. Results: Among 519 cases tumors were 316 cases60.89%; infections 101 cases 19.46%;injuries 19 cases3.661%; mucous diseases 52 cases 10.02%; trigeminal neuralgias 10 cases 1.927%;malformations 21 cases 4.046%. The ratio of male to female as 1.460:1. Conclusions: Number of oral and maxillofacial tumor patients ranks the first in the aged inpatients The number of patients with malignant tumors and infections has increased in recent years. Timely and effective treatment and prevention of oral-maxillofacial diseases were the methods to protect the health of aged people.
