Objective: To study the expression and correlation of p53,p63,p73 protein in colorectal tumors on Fujian China. To investigate the level of p53,p63,p73 protein in colorectal cancer, adenoma and the normal mucosas, and the relation between P53,p63,p73 protein and the cytodifferentiation, depth of invasion, lymph node metastases, anatomical position. And the relation of p53,p63,p73 protein in colorectal cancer. Methods: Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of P53, P63, P73 protein in 50 cases of colorectal adenoma, 50 cases of colorectal cancer,50 cases of colorectal normal mucosas. And a statistical analysis made according to clinicopathological data of colorectal cancer. Results: 1.The positive rate of expression of P53 protein in colorectal carcinoma was 62%, markedly higher than that in colorectal adenoma and normal mucosas.. The difference was significant (P<0.01) .The expression rate of p53 protein positively related with the cytodifferentiation, depth of invasion, lymph node metastases (P<0.05) ,but it didn't relate with the anatomical position (P>0.05) .2. The positive rate of expression of p63 protein in colorectal carcinoma was 34%, markedly higher than that in colocectal adenoma and normal mucosas.. The difference was significant (P<0.01) .The expression rate of p63 protein positively related with the cytodifferentiation(P<0.01), but there was not relatity of p63 protein with depth of invasion, lymph node metastases, anatomical position (P>0.05).3. The positive rate of expression of p73 protein in colorectal carcinoma was 46%, markedly higher than that in colocectal adenoma and normal mucosas.. The difference was significant (P<0.01) .The expression rate of p73 protein positively related with the cytodifferentiation(P<0.01), but there was not relatity of p73 protein with depth of invasion, lymph node metastases, anatomical position (P>0.05) .4. The positive correlation was present between p53 and p63, p73 and p53 protein ,p63 and p73 expression. Conclusions: 1. The anti-oncogene p53 had the high expression rate in the colorectal cancer, it can illustrate that p53 gene was closely relation with the colorectal carcinoma development. It is very useful to investigate P53 protein expression in colorectal cancer early diagnosis and its prognosis. 2..P63 and P73 protein are expressed partly in colorectal cancer, and the expression rate of p63, p73 protein positively related with the cytodifferentiation .It suggests that Pb3 and P73 protein still have relativity with colorectal malignancy. 3. There was not relatity of p53,p63,p73 protein with anatomical position .4. The positive correlation was present between p53 and p63, p73 and p53 protein ,p63 and p73 expression.Perhaps p53,p63 and p73 gene had synergistic effect in colorectal carcinoma development,to make the malignant transformation and bad prognosis.
