ObjectiveThrough the micronucleus test to study the biocompatibility of metal ceramicalloys, evaluate the carcinogenicity and mutagenicity of self-made Ni-Cr porcelainalloy at the porint of toxicity. At the same time, compare the toxicity of the fourmaterials to select a better Ni-Cr porcelain alloy.Provide theoretical and practical basisfor exploiting new product.MethodsImmerse the four Ni-Cr porcelain alloys into 0.154M Nacl medium according to1.3ml Nacl liquid per square centimeter after casting each mental material into twobadies of 4cm×2cm×1mm.Bring them up at the temperature of 37℃for fivedays.Selected 112 healthy Kunming small white rats which weigh 20±2g and putthem into 14 groups at freedom. The 14 groups for micronucleus(MN) test.In the micronucleus test, the negative and the positive compare groups were injectwith 0.154M Nacl solution and cyclophosphamide solution respectively. The fourtest-groups were used with original solution and the solutions which were diluted fortwo and four times.Taking 30 hours-test,mixed breastbone marrow with little serumand made them into samples.Figured out the micronucleus rates of PCE with doubleblind method under oil lens after fixing up and dying the samples. All results wereanalyzed with SAS soft ware package. Results1.Observing the original liquids with naked eye,the four original liquids wereclarity which have no color change,no deposit, they were the same as Nacl liquid fromappearance.2.The micronucleus rates of PCE of all groups were significantly different by thestatistical analyses (P<0.01).The difference of the MN rates of PEC between the testgroups and the negative group was not significant(P>0.05); but the difference of thetest groups and the positive group was apparently(P<0.0001).The difference of everytwo groups was not significant(P>0.05).Conclution1.Both self-made Ni-Cr porcelain alloys without Be and Ni-Cr porcelain alloyscontaining Be have no carcinogenicity and mutagenicity.2.Self-made Ni-Cr porcelain alloys without Be have no toxicity at the point ofmicronucleus test, and could be used in porcelain-fused-to-matal crowns.
