ObjectiveTo explore the clinical characteristics and lab examination of pulmonary tuberculosis complicated with diabetes,also the importance of diagnosis and treatment to it.And find the best way to control the spreading of the pulmonary tuberculosis.MethodRetrospectively comparedly analysised 104 cases pulmonary tuberculosis with diabetes and 106 cases pulmonary tuberculosis during March 2004 to August 2006 , in order to find out the characteristic of invasion, clinic manifestation , laboratory examination and treatment to pulmonary tuberculosis.ResultIn the group with DM, about 95(91.4%) of middle-old-aged, 65(62.5%) of diabetes final diagnosed before pulmonary tuberculosis,35(33.7%) of non-respiratory symptom ,32(30.8%) of focus in the mid-lower field at the chest radiography ,71(68.3%) of severe pulmonary tuberculosis were enrolled. There were 85 cases with good control of blood glucose level had the improved of pulmonary tuberculosis, but 11(57.9%) in 19 cases with bed control of blood glucose level. In the group without DM, about 94(88.7%) of middle-old-aged, 9(8.5%) of non-respiratory symptom, 14(13.2%) of focus in the mid-lower field at the chest radiography, 36(34.0%) of severe pulmonary tuberculosis were enrolled.Conclusion(1) Pulmonary tuberculosis companied with diabetes patients mostly were middle elderly persons. Mostly diabetes were found earlier than pulmonary tuberculosis.(2)The group with DM had less typical tubercle toxicosis symptoms and more serious than group without DM. (3)The control of blood glucose level is very important to the curative effects on pulmonary tuberculosis. On the whole, pulmonary tuberculosis complicated with Diabetes shows disadvantages to influence each other.Control of blood glucose level is the key in treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis patients complicated with diabetes.
