Objective:To understand plasma brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) level features changing with the age. Metheds:ELISA was used to test 251 elderly people's BNP level changes in the characteristics of different age groups. Results:BNP of the 251 cases were divided into four age groups (60-69, 70-79, 80-89 and 90 years and over) for a simple single-factor analysis of variance, the value of the results between BNP in a statistically significant difference between age groups (P <0.001), (There were no significant differences except 80-89, over the age of 90). Conclusion:Age was an important physiologic factor which has an impact on human plasma BNP level.
