Isolation And Identification Of Aerobe And Their Susceptibility Observation In Patients With Chronic Sinusitis

Objective:To explore the characteristics and drug sensitivity of aerobe that isolated from patients with chronic sinusitis(CR)and guide clinical medication.Methods:The purulent discharges taken from the anterior nasal sinuses of 124 patients during endoscopic sinus surgery(ESS)were cultured for aerobe and antibiotic susceptibility tests.In the control group,the discharges from the nasal cavity from 20 patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS)were also cultured for aerobe.Results:Among the 124 cases,bacterial growth were found in 76 cases,the total positive rate of aerobe was 61.1%,13 different kinds of aerobe were cultured in 80 colonies,the major kind of bacteria were Staphylococcus epidermidis and Staphylococcus aureus,they account for 60%.There were 68 Gram-positive cocci and 12 Gram-negative bacilli,respectively account for 85%and 15%.Theβ-lactamase-producing bacteria (β-LPB)was detected in 12.9%strains in which Staphylococcus epidermidis and Staphylococcus aureus majority.In control group,Among the 20 cases,bacterial growth were found in 10 cases,the positive rate was 50%,3 different kinds of aerobe were cultured in 10 colonies.Through x~2 test,There was no significant diference of distribution of bacteria between the control group and the testing group(x~2=0.0260,P＞0.05).The antibiotic susceptibility tests demonstrated that levofloxacin,ciprofloxacin, vancomycin,gentamicin,ampicillin/sulbactam,gentamicin,imipenem and rifampicin were good in activity to aerobe,and penicillin G,ampicillin,azithromycin,erythromycin. were low in activity to aerobe.Conclusions:The Gram-positive bacterial in the pathogenesis of chronic sinusitis occupies very important position.Bacterial cultivation and antibiotic susceptibility tests should be routinely done in patients with chronic sinusitis,and they have very important guiding significance for the rational use of antibiotics...
