Objective:To investigate the expression of MRP-1/CD9 and KAI1/CD82 in colorectal carcinoma,and the relationship with the invasion and metastasis of colorectal carcinoma.Methods:70 cases of colorectal carcinoma,20 cases of colonic adenoma, and 20 cases of colonic mucosa which came from the Pathology Dept.in the first affiliated hospital of the Guangxi medical university were examined by using immunohistochemistry for the expression of MRP-1/CD9 and KAI1/CD82 protein.Results:The positive expression rates of MRP-1/CD9 protein and KAI1/CD82 protein in the cancerous tissue were 61.4%and 58.6%,in the colonic adenoma were 5%,5%,in the colonic mucosa were 20%,15%. Obviously,the positive expression rates in the first one were significantly higher than that of colonic adenoma and colonic mucosa(p<0.001).The high positive expression rates of MRP-1/CD9 and KAI1/CD82 in samples from cancerous tissue were significantly correlated with the clinical stage,reginal invasion,lymphatic and blood stream metastasis in colorectal carcinoma (p<0.001).But there were no correlation with differentiation degree,the age and sex of the patients(P>0.05).There have correlation between MRP-1/CD9 and KAI1/CD82(P<0.05).Conclusion:The expression of MRP-1/CD9 and KAI1/CD82 are higher in the colorectal carcinoma group than in the colonic adenoma and colonic mucosa.Their expressions are correlated to the invasion and metastasis of colorectal carcinoma.There have significantly correlation between the positive expression rates of MRP-1/CD9 and KAI1/CD82.Thus not only the detection of the two factors could used as markers to predict metastasis and invasion of colorectal carcinoma,but also the using of their would be possibly a new approach to cure colorectal carcinoma.
