Objective: To explore the advantages and disadvantages of the operations, bycomparing the effects of the three most common laparoscopic gastroplasty treatmentof obesity, including weight loss, complications of the surgery, the improvement ofco-morbidities of obesity and the post-operative nutrition of the patients, and toprovide the theoretical basis to the clinical application of the bariatric surgery. Methods: Three groups operation (LVBG 4 cases, LRYGB 5 cases and LAGB 1 case)data were collected, and then we measured the value of body weight, BMI, waistcircumference (WC) and excess weight loss rate (EWL%)of the patientspre-operatively, 1-month, 3-months, 6-months 9-months, 12-months, 18-months,24-months, 30-months, 36-months, 42-months, 60-months and 72-monthspost-operatively. And at the same time we evaluated the complications of the surgery, the improvement of the co-morbidities of obesity and the post-operative nutrition ofthe patients. The value of body weight, BMI, WC and EWL% are expressed in mean±standard division ((?)±s). The values within one group are statistically analyzedwith two-way ANOVA, and the values between two groups are statically analyzedwith repeated measured ANOVA. All data areResult: The mean body weight, BMI, WC of group LVBG is: 96.75±20.76kg,37.70±6.38 kg/m~2,110.75±13.74cm ,and the same index of LRYGB is: respectively104.88±22.25kg,37.10±3.80 kg/m~2,114.50±13.30cm, the interclasses haven'tstatistical significance(P>0.05). The body weight, BMI, WC of group LAGB is:105kg,38.6 kg/m~2和117cm. All the patients with co-morbidities and there is one 2type diabetes case within group LVBG and LRYGB respectively. In group LVBG, thebody weight, BMI and WC were decreasing during 24 months post-operatively, at thesame time, the EWL% is increasing. In this group, body weight, BMI and WC are73.75±8.42kg,28.83±1.79 kg/m~2 and 90.63±2.63cm 6 months post-operatively, andthat are lower than the pre-operative values(P<0.05).24-months post operation, thebody weight, BMI and WC have decreased to the lowest level, and the EWL% increasing to the top level, that is 58.87±7.71kg,23.05±2.55 kg/m~2, 80.00±4.40cmand 84.30±16.62%. After that, the patients of LVBG have regained the body weightsomehow. In the group LRYGB, the body weight values are dereasing after operation. The index of obesity have statistical significance at 6-months post operation.(P<0.05), and the EWL% is 52.95±9.47%. At 24 months post operation, the mean bodyweight, BMI, WC and EWL% is 60.38±13.17kg,21.40±2.51 kg/m~2和80.88±4.66cmand 103.05±13.66%, that is lower than the values pre-operation.(P<0.01). All theco-morbidities have been controlled. In group LAGB, the body weight decreasing inone year after operation, and the BMI is 27.2 kg/m~2, and the excess body weight haslost 66.5%。Conclusion: The laparoscopic gastroplasty treatments can gain an excellent weightloss effort and cure the co-morbidities of obesity in short time in Chinese citizen.Maybe the LRYGB is the most effectively approach. However, the mid-to long-termfollow-up is still necessary.
