Study On Hp Infection And Expression Of 5-HT And CgA In Gastric Antral Mucosa Of Chronic Gastritis Patients With Spleen-stomach Damp-heat Syndrome | Posted on:2008-02-29 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | Country:China | Candidate:J M Chai | Full Text:PDF | GTID:2144360215981518 | Subject:Integrative basis | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | Objective: To investigate the role of Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection and expression of 5—Hydroxytryptamine (5—HT) and Chromogranin A(CgA) in gastric antral mucosa of chronic gastritis patients with spleen-stomach damp-heat(SSDH) syndrome. Methods: 51 chronic gastritis patients were selected as research subjects.According to the different standards of chronic gastritis of TCM,29 cases belonged to SSDH group,22 cases belonged to spleen-stomach qi-deficiency (SSQD)group, and 12 healthy persons as control group.Antral mucosal biopsy specimens were obtained during endoscopy in these patients and in controls with intact mucosa.Rapid urease tests and Hp staining was used for the diagnosis of Hp.Immunocytochemical staining was used to study the expression of 5—HT and CgA.Results:1. Hp infection ratio was higher (72.41%) in the SSDH group than in the SSQD group (31.8%) (p<0.01).2.5—HT and CgA expressed weakly in the control group, while expression of 5—HT and CgA in the gastritis group was increased, especially in the SSDH group, expression of 5—HT and CgA was higher than that in SSQD group(p<0.01) or in control group (p<0.01).Conclusions:1. The chronic gastritis patients with SSDH syndrome have high Hp infection ratio.2. The expression of 5—HT and CgA in the gastritis group were increased with Hp infected, and the SSDH group was higher than that of other groups. They may induce and modulate inflammatory factor and enhance inflammatory reaction.,and play a synergetic role in the inflammatory reaction. This suggests a possible mechanism that the SSDH syndrome correlated well with the activity of gastritis.3. Hp is the primary etiological factor of active chronic gastritis and one of carcinogenes, the eradicative treatment of Hp play a important role in the procedure of chronic gastritis.4.5—HT and CgA are detected periodically in SSDH patients will be important for clinical monitoring the inflammation procedure.MESH TERMS: gastritis/diag chronic disease spleen-stomach damp-heat helicobaeter pylori infections/microbiol 5—Hydroxytryptamine/blood Chromogranin A / blood immunohistochemistry / methods... | Keywords/Search Tags: | gastritis /diag, chronic disease, spleen-stomach damp-heat, helicobacter pylori infections /microbiol, 5—Hydroxytryptamine /blood, Chromogranin A / blood, immunohistochemistry / methods | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
