The Effects Plus Minus-Gentianae Macrophyllae Decoction Has On IL-1β, TNF-A And VEGF In AA Rats

Objective:The aim of this study is to investigate the therapeutic effect and mechanism of action of plus minus-Gentianae Macrophyllae Decoction on the RA.Methods:The AA rat is taken as the experiment animal model for RA. Being treated with FSN and plus minus-Gentianae Macrophyllae Decoction (GMD) respectively,Observing rats arthrocele extent by comparison,Detecting the level of IL-1β,TNF-αand VEGF in blood serum by ELISA to investigate the mechanism of action of plus minus-Gentianae Macrophyllae Decoction.Results:(1)GMD can inhibit secondary joints swelling and multy-arthritis evidently, improve the whole condition of rats;at the same time, it can also lighten the synovial inflammation and hyperplasia of lesion joints distinctly.(2) GMD can inhibit the secretion of IL-1βand TNF-αto bring into full effect anti-inflammatory and immunoloregulation.(3) GMD can lower the level of VEGF and reduce blood vessel neogenesis then inhibit the forming of pannus.Conclusions:The data indicate that GMD has inhibitory . effects on symptom and condition of experimental RA. The effection of inhibiting the secretion of IL-1βand TNF-αand lowering the level of VEGF probably are the basis of controlling immflammation and proliferation of synovium and the destruction of joint cartilages and bones so as to retard the disease progressing.
