Objective:To observe the curative effect of hypertherapy with concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy in treating the patients with locally advanced cervix cancer. The cervical cancer is one of prevalence of gynecological malignant carcinoma, which had no better effect in treatment for locally advanced cervical carcinoma.Recently, the researcher domestic and abroad suggested that the multiple methods in treatment were better than an only one.The research aimed to assess the curative effect of concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy with hypertherapy in locally advanced cervical carcinoma and to exploit a good method for clinical application.Method:The prospective study was carried out with 60 cases in the cancer hospital,Datong, Shanxi province,July 2006- Jan 2007.The patients were divided randomly into two groups:the experimental group was conducted concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy with hypertherapy;the control group did only concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The control group of 30 cases were performed as following:6Mv-X ray external irradiation with 50-55 Gy(the midpelvical plane),the dose at point A of 60Co intracavitary was 42-49Gy, concurrent chemotherapy:DDP(cisplatin)30 mg/m2,5-Fu 1.0/m2 for three days in three week, and lasted for two cycles. The experimental group of 30 cases were done the same way and associated with intracavitary hypertherapy. Results:the 57 cases, which were performed completely the therapy, were carried out gynecologic examination during symptom observation per week. The physical check-up including gynecologic examination, ultrasonic B and CT were performed for confirming the tumor recession. The results showed that complete response(CR)in the control group was 64.3%(17 cases),while the experimental group was 72.4%(21cases);that partial response(PR) in the control group was 14.3%(2cases),while the experimental group was 17.2%(5cases), CR+PR in the control group was 67.9%(19cases),while the experimental group was 89.7%(26cases),P<0.05;the no change(NC)in the control group was125%(7case),while the experimental group was 6.9%(2cases),;the progressing disease(PD)in the control group was 7.1%(2cases),while the experimental group was 3.4%(lcase);the main toxic reactions were gastrointestinal reactions and myelosuppression, which were mild and under gradeⅢ.The patients with the above toxic reactions could be cured after treatment corresponding symptoms and no affect on the research. The gastrointestinal reaction in the control group was 85.7%, while the experimental group was 41.4%,P<0.01:the leukocytopenia in the control group was92.9%,while the experimental group was 75.0%,P<0.05.Conclusion:the concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy has been acted as a conventional therapy. But the mere radiotherapy had no better effect especial in locally advanced carcinoma. and were refractory to cure.In the most studies, the hytherapy is an important status and effects in clinical application. The study showed that the hypertherapy simultaneously with radio-chemotherapy function well in locally advanced cervical carcinoma(CR+PR89.7%)and little with toxic reaction. The therapy was worthy of clinical application for the treatment of locally advanced cervical carcinoma.
