Objective:To explore the level of serum adiponectin and leptin in patients with coronary heart disease(CHD),and the relationship between the levels of adiponectin,leptin and high sensitive C-reactive protein(HsCRP),plasminogen activator inhibitor-1(PAI-1).This may help to know the role of adiponectin and leptin in the pathogenesis of CHD.Methods:All subjects were enrolled from in patients who underwent coronary angiography,we studied total of 86 patients.These included 64 patients with CHD and 22 controls.They were measured the height,weight,waistline,hipline,then the body mass index(BMI)and waist-to-hip ratio(WHR)were calculated.All they were measured fasting plasma glucose,plasma lipids,fasting insulin,and calculated homeostasis model assessment-insulin resistance (HOMA-IR).Concentration of serum adiponectin,leptin,HsCRP and plasma PAI-1 were assayed by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).All statistical analysis was performed with Windows SPSS13.0.Data are presented as((?)±s).The significance of the differences between the groups were determined by t-test,x square test,linear correlation and stepwise regression analysis were used to evaluate the relationship between the variables.Results:1.The level of serum adiponectin was obviously decreased and serum leptin was obviously higher in patients with coronary heart disease than those in controls.2.Among risk factor of CHD,BMI,WHR,HOMA-IR and fasting plasma glucose effected the level of adiponectin;BMI,,HOMA-IR and blood pressure effected the level of leptin.3.The levels of serum HsCRP and plasma PAI-1 were obviously higher in patients with coronary heart disease than those in controls.4.Adiponectin had negative correlation with CRP and PAI-1,leptin had positive correlation with HsCRP and PAI-1,adiponectin had negative correlation with leptin.Conclusion:Adiponectin may be a protect factor of CHD and leptin may be a risk factor of CHD, adiponectin and leptin may play important role in the development of CHD by participate in inflammatory reaction and blood coagulation.
