Objective:To explore the change of QOL of early-stage cancer patients during chemotherapy and the effects of psychological intervention on quality of life in cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. To search for the methods to improve the patients' quality of life.Methods:The conveniently sampled case of patients for the clinical research were those suffered from lung cancer, breast cancer and colorectal cancer which had higher morbidity and were common in our department. The patients were divided into the intervention group and control group randomly. The intervention group received psychological intervention simultaneously routine chemotherapy whereas the control group only received routine chemotherapy. It used questionnaire of life quality core to survey the living condition of cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and the effects of psychological intervention in them.Results1. After four courses the score of the two groups' overall quality of life were both higher than before treatment. There was a significant difference, especially in the last two treating courses.2. In the control group not every statue of QOL will significantly change, and the significantly improved statues of QOL were emotional function, role function and global quality of life and the significantly relieved symptoms were Nausea/vomiting and insomnia. There was no significant difference in other statues.3. The intervention group showed significantly better QOL outcomes in the statue of emotional function, cognitive function, role function and global quality of life and in the symptom relieve of nausea/vomiting, fatigue and insomnia. There was a significant difference between the two groups and the three periods.Conclusion:1. If no recurrence or disease progression occurs, along with the chemotherapy carrying out, especially in the last two treating courses, the cancer patients' QOL will gradually improved.2. psychological intervention therapy can improve the quality of life in cancer patients receiving chemotherapy, especially in the statue of emotional function, cognitive function, role function and Global quality of life and in the symptom relieve of nausea/vomiting, fatigue and insomnia.
