Purpose: To improve the clinical diagnosis of prostatic cancer. Methods: 80 prostatic neoplasms were evaluated retrospectively according to the clinical mani-festations,transrectal palpation , blood PSA findings ,ultrasound, CT scanning, MRI of prostate, biopsy and skeletal scintigraphy. Results: 1.As to the clinical manifestations dysuria accurred in 64(80.00%), retention of urine in 16(20.00%), hematuria in 10(12.50%), bone pain in 13(16.25%), hemospermia in 2(2.50%), urinary incontinence in 2(2.50%).2.As to the laboratory examination urinary tract infection accurred in 34(42.50%), microscopic hematuria in 41(51.25%),three-line decrease of blood routine in 2(2.50%),renal function decrease in 14(17.50%).3.On 79 transrectal palpation glandular induration was found in 51(64.56%),elevated nodules in 36(45.57%),two lobe dissymmetry in 16(20.25%).4.77 serum PSA findings revealed less than 4 ng/ml in 8(10.39%),4-10ng/ml in 9(11.69%), more than 10ng/ml in 60(77.92%).5.65 transabdominal ultrasound findings showed prostatic cancer in 27(41.53%), and 5 transrectal ultrasound findings showed prostatic cancer in 1(20.00%).6.31 CT scanning of prostate revealed prostatic cancer in 24(77.42%).7.11 MRI revealed prostatic cancer in 5 (45.50%) and metastasis in 6 (54.50%) .8.20 skeletal scintigraphy revealed osseous metastasis in 18(90.00%).9.31 patients underwent prostate biopsy guided by transrectal palpation, positive results were found in 19(61.29%). 17 patients underwent prostate biopsy guided by transrectal ultrasound, positive results were found in 13 (76.47%) .Conclution:1.The clinical manifestation together with the imaging, PSA finding, DRE,biopsy, skeletal scintigraphy, all played an important role in the clinical diagnosis of prostatic cancer.2.Men should take the examination of DRE and serum PSA every year from 50 years old. 3.Suggesting to select MRI as the first imaging examination when suspecting prostate cancer clinically, especially when PSA is abnormal but DRE is negative.4.The patients of prostatic cancer should take the ECT examination no matter what the clinical stage is.5.The positive rate of prostate biopsy guided by transrectal ultrasound is higher than by transrectal palpation.
