As the information technology is developing rapidly and economical globalization competition is intensifying, human society entered the knowledge-dominated age, the knowledge is changing very fast. Human capital has a fast depreciation. Economy daily relies on knowledge more and more. The traditional factors of production were replaced by knowledge, which is becoming the most important source of every organizations. The knowledge management was attached more and more importance by people, which becomes the hottest issue in the world. It becomes a topic of management nowadays.A hospital is an oganization which is knowledge-concentrated, technology -concentrated and talent-concentrated. With the development of the market economy, the further innovation of medical treatment and health system and the increasing competition after entered into WTO, the advanced management thought and mode will become the means to succeed in the competition. Only by applying knowledge management, creating knowledge, using knowledge flexibly, making the most of the knowledge, can the hospital strength the core competencies. There is important theoretical and practical meaning to research and conduct knowledge management, under the age of knowledge economy, to strengthen and improve the hospital work, to ensure the high hospital efficiency, standards and scientific of the hospital, to enhance the efficiency of the management, to raise the core competencies of the hospital and push the formation of the coordinated hospital .In this thesis, the author applies some basic theory and method in philosophy of science and technology, management and system theory, writes about some conceptions and theories of the hospital knowledge management, analyzes the characteristic, contents of the hospital knowledge management, inquires the target and function of the hospital knowledge management; discriminates the notion of the hospital knowledge management system as well; discusses the necessity of implementing the hospital knowledge management; Stresses the advantage of the hospital knowledge management comparing to others related to management theories.
