Objective:To study the clinical curative effect of Qian lie hua zhuo capsule on patients of Chronic prostatitis with syndromes of stagnation of humid heat. Methods :The study adopted random, single blind and comparison clinical research method. In this study, 70 cases of chronic prostatitis were divided randomly into two groups of which treatment group had 35 cases and control group had 35 cases. The patients of treatment group were given Qian lie hua zhuo capsule (4 tablets, tid),While those in control group were given Qian lie jie du capsule (4 tablets, bid). All patients of the two groups were treated for 4 weeks. The following aspects had been done during the research:(l)To evaluate the total curative effect after treatment.(2)To record the scores of NIH chronic prostatitis syndrome Index.(3)To evaluate pressing pain on prostate.(4)To detect the amount of white blood cell in expressed prostate secretions(EPS).(5)To estimate the quality of life by SF-12 (SF-12 is a multipurpose short-form with only 12 questions, all selected from the SF-36 Health Survey. It was developed to be a much shorter, yet valid, alternative to the SF-36).(6)To analyze the data by SPSS software. Results: 1 Total clinical curative effect after treatment: The effective rate of treatment group was 80.00%, while the effective rate of control group was 66.67%.The effect of treatment group was better than that of control group, and had significant difference between the two groups(Z=-1.972,P=0.049<0.05).2 Curative effect of integral of symptom after treatment:The effective rate of treatment group was 86.67%, while the effective rate of control group was 76.67%.The effect of treatment group was better than that of control group, and had significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).3 Scores of NIH Chronic Prostatitis Syndrome Index:The NIH-CPSI scores of pain or discomfort, quality of life and total score of treatment group had significant difference as compared with that of control group after treatment(P<0.05).But the scores of disposition of urethra and influence of symptom had no significant difference compared with that of control group(P>0.05). 4.The SF-12 health survey: The SF-12 Health Survey is a generic measure of health status .The scores of PCS-12 increased from 47.56±8.45 to 50.26±7.64 in treatment group. The scores of PCS-12 increased from 50.65±8.30 to 50.71±8.24 in control group. The changes of PCS-12 of treatment group had significant difference compared with that of control group after treatment (F=3.362~a,P=0.042<0.05). The scores of MCS-12 increased from 43.02±12.75 to 47.5H10.90 in treatment group. The scores of MCS-12 increased from 43.60±12.99 to 49.17±11.05 in control group. The changes of MCS-12 of treatment group had not significant difference compared with that of control group after treatment (F=0.349,P=0.624>0.05). 5.Pressing Pain on prostate:The pressing pain on prostate of treatment was no better than that of control group after treatment, and had not significant difference(Z=-1.758 , P=0.079>0.05).6.Count of white blood cell in EPS:The changes of the count of white blood cell in EPS of treatment group were not significantly better than that of controlled after treatment( Z=-1.053, P=0.293>0.05).7 Amount of lecithin in EPS:The changes of the amount of lecithin of treatment group were not significantly better than that of controlled after treatment(P>0.05).Conclusion In traditional Chinese medicine's eyes, the main pathologic change of CP is stagnation of humid heat. Qian lie hua zhuo capsule had significant curative effect on improving clinical symptoms. Qian lie hua zhuo capsule can improve the quality of life of CP patients. Qian lie hua zhuo capsule owns good curative effect.
