| Ulcerative colitis is a chronic nonspecific inflammatory disease of rectum and colon without the distinct etiological factor which involves intestinal mucosa and stratum submucosum that the rectum and sigmoid colon are mainly suffered. The major clinical symptom is abdominal pain, diarrhea, bloody purulent stool. The pathogenesis of UC is not clear up to now, which is concerned with environment, inheritance, infection and immunity. The treatment of the modern medicine is limited for its nonspecificity, great adverse reaction, symptom recurrent attacks or worsens when drugs not taken that affects the living quality of UC patients. So we need to search the more effective drugs with little adverse reaction or a new treatment.TCM consider it as diarrhea, dysentery, spouting bleeding of anus, recurrent dysentery and lingering dysentery for its main clinic symptom is abdominal pain, diarrhea, bloody purulent stool and the long course, recurrent attacks. As a result we pertain it to be recurrent dysentery through the reference, clinic symptom and chronic recurrence.Through the analysis of reference and the clinic practice, we consider that the first cause of the disease is the dysfunction of spleen in transportation and the second is the dampness and heat blood stasis. Simultaneously, the binding constraint of damp-heat and blood stasis in spleen is the main pattern of syndromes, so strengthening the spleen, invigorating Qi is chief, then is the cleaning heat and resolving dampness, promoting circulation and healing. The diseased region is always in distal colon, such as rectum and sigmoid colon, so part retention enema of traditional Chinese medicine is widely used. According to the rules, treatment to the UC by taking LICHANGTANG orally and giving an enema with KUIYANGLING has better therapeutic effect and lower recurrence rate. LICHANGTANG is composed of codonopsis pilosula, parched atractylodes macrocephala, cortex ailanthi, semen coicis, cynanchum paniculatum, fructus mume, bolus rubra, radix notoginseng, bletillae rhizoma, cat-tail pollen, sophora flower, glycyrrhiza uralensis, while KUIYANGLING is composed of lightyellow sophora root, indigo naturalis, acaciae catechu, galla chinensis, notoginseng, radix, common bletilla tuber, cat-tail pollen, sophora flower. As a result, we propose to cure UC by LICHANGTANG and KUIYANGLING through approaching the theory (including traditional medicine and morden medicine) and the experience by my teacher. We overview symptoms before and after treatments, enteroscopical manifestation to evaluate the curative effect. The result shows that the total effective rate is 93.33% in 30 pou in treatment group. The effective power in treatment group is better than that in control group by taking SASP orally. The treatment has a good curative effect and powerful specificness. |
