Inner Cannon of Yellow Emperor is an earliest medical classic extant in China. It includes two parts: Ling Shu or Miraculous Pivot and Su Wen or plain Question. This thesis mainly elaborates the thought of Ling Shu part in Inner Cannon of Yellow Emperor. Choosing the traditional science in China as the topic——through the angle of traditional Chinese medicine's key text, the author plans to philosophicaly analyze the thought of meridian doctrine in Ling Shu.By demonstrating and analyzing the text, the thesis tries to explain that traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is an applied science, while it has profound theoretical foundation and plenty of practical experience. Nonetheless meridian doctrine and acupuncture therapy in TCM are great scientific achievements, which mention in the same breath with four inventions in China Archaian. In order to investigate how the meridian doctrine comes into being and developed, along with its role and value in modern medical science, we need backdate to Inner Cannon of Yellow Emperor.Inner Cannon of Yellow Emperor had established and brought forth a maturer way of TCM. The concept of viewing the situation in which heaven and earth coordinate with people each other is considered as a whole. The paper is on the side of view which characterizes correspondence between human being and universe. By expatiating the theory of meridian doctrine and viscera-state doctrine in Inner Cannon of Yellow Emperor, the author wants to clarify the philosophical idea of yin yang, the five elements and concept of wholism in meridian doctrine. Besides, in the process of recounting, the thesis will also clarify relevant sections and chapters in Ling Shu so as to discuss the question of twelve regular meridians' sources.Through Ling Shu in Inner Cannon of Yellow Emperor which exhibits basic theoreties of TCM, we can comprehend the way of thinking in TCM and the germination of scientific thought in forepart Chinese ancient thought. This is, studying the theory in Ling Shu plays an important role in the establishment of meridian doctrine in the modern world.
