The Epidemiological Investigation Of The Prevalence Of Metabolic Syndrome In The Middle Aged And Elderly Population Of Changchun

Object: Metabolic syndrome has been paid more attention as a single forecasting factor of type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease. Metabolic syndrome mostly include obesity,IGT,dyslipidemia and so on. The incidences of type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease in the metabolic syndrome population are 5 times than ordinary person. MS has severely endangered the mortal health. Studies approve in so many pathogenies the relation between overweight or obesity and MS is important.Overweight or obesity is the key to the happening of metabolic syndrome. This study is to investigate the prevalence of metabolic syndrome in the middle aged and elderly population of Changchun.Methods: To get the following information by the question sheets and auto lipid analysis: age, sex, profession, education, living habits, the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension and diabetes, stature,weight,waistline, blood sugar, CHOL, TG, HDL, LDL.Results And Conclusions: 791 persons were tested, aged45 to 85 years old, this study show the mobility of hypertention is 47.47%, beteewn 78~85 years old it reaches 63.04%. The mobility of glucose metabolic disorder (IGT, IFG, DM) is 28.44%, beteewn 78~85 years old it reaches 31.52%. The mobility of dyslipidemia is 47.28%, beteewn 45~55 years old it reaches 61.54%. The rate of overweight (BMI≥25 kg/m2 )in this population is 45.39%, beteewn 55~65 years old it reaches 53.59%, the rate of obesity (waistline male≥85cm,female≥80cm)is 77.62%, beteewn 45~55 years old it reaches 84.61%, beteewn 75~85 years old it reaches 70.42%. The mobility of metabolic syndrome is 20.1%, beteewn 55~65 years old it reaches 27.19%. The rate of more than one abnormal indicator is 32.87%, more than two abnormal indicators 29.71%, more than four abnormal indicators 3.41%. The mobility of metabolic syndrome reach 51.11% when waistline more than 105cm .The investigation show that high mobility, approach to west country's. This mean we should pay more attention to the situation, and in the same time adopt healthy life style, right treatment, depress the negative effects to our society.
